14 Tips For a Killer Health Coach About Page

Your health coach About page on your website is an important element that aids your website visitors in their decision to become customers.

Often prospective leads will look at services or your blogs and the next step will be to learn more about you! That’s why you want it to be good, it plays a key role in getting you leads! Here’s my best tips to make it a success.

Tips on creating a highly impactful health coach About page.

#1 A compelling headline

It’s an About page, sure, but the headline shouldn’t be just your name, but a short summary of benefits your customers get from you. Ask yourself, what do you do for them in one sentence? That’s your headline.

#2 Have a high quality photo of you in action

People go to your About page to learn more about you, so give them an idea of what to expect. A professional business photo is a good start, but that’s something they can get from LinkedIn. Instead, give them a sneak peek of the action immediately.

Are you a nutritionist? What about cooking or plating shots. If your focus is on exercise, what about training with clients? It all shows authority.

#3 Proofread your copy

The goal of a health coach About page is to connect with the visitor, and showcase you’re a real pro. Pros won’t allow sloppy copy, so make sure all copy is proofread and have no mistakes or it could actually hurt your sales.

#4 Check links to your social media accounts

This is such a common mistake I see! Connections go beyond your website so make sure people can check your social accounts too. Double check every link to your social media is working well and takes prospects directly to your profiles.

#5 Be concise

All your headings should be to the point and inform leads on what you are about! Avoid waffling and instead stick to what makes you unique and what they can expect of you.

#6 Check the alt tags

Tags help Google make sense of your page, and also help people with disabilities make sense of the page easier (e.g. with page readers and similar tools). Describe each element well! It also helps with SEO.

#7 Have a quick facts section

There you can list the most important information about yourself, like when you founded your brand, your studio or physical location, and your contact info.

#8 Make it easy to find

The link to your About page should be listed in the navigation menu, ideally right after the home tab. That’s where people are used to looking.

#9 Focus on the story

Every health coach About page focuses on telling your story – Who you are, how you got there, how you struggled, what helped you along the way. Use this story to connect with visitors and make it personal. It forms an instant connection.

#10 Have a video ready

Video is a popular medium and having a face-to-face on your About page is popular! The format helps them get an idea of what you can do, offer, how you look and sound like, two aspects that play a big role in the world of health and wellness branding.

Make sure your video has at least HD quality (that means 1080p) and that it doesn’t start autoloading. Let users decide when they want to watch it. Have captions on your video – many people watch it with sound off.

#11 Place the most important info above the fold

The fold is the first section of the website that loads without scrolling, and people spend more than 80% of the time there, so they expect to find important info easily.

#12 Leave selling out of it

Your health coach About page is all about building a relationship and connection, not about selling. Trying to sell there just tells visitors that that is all you are about – making money off of them. Focus on connection here instead and it’s more likely to convert.

#13 Keep it consistent

Yes, you can go wild with storytelling on your About page, but the design aspect should stick to your overall branding – voice, tone, colors, imagery should all be in line!

#14 Update it regularly

Your brand is ever evolving, and your About page should reflect this. Include some recent information, like your decision to become more digitized and available to clients online too. You can also include your personal developments to stay connected to leads too!
